South Africa, Surf and Safari, Whales and Gardern

South Africa is more than a place just to see, is a country to experiment with the five meaning. It's a moving encounter that makes you want to come back and I am now in my fifth visit to this land of beauty and freedom. It a land of contrasts where traditional forms of Africa are mixed with those of modern Europe.

Here are but a traveler of a tourist safari, we proposed to substitute hotels every night. We follow the Garden Route, tourist road frequented by the Romans. Included in our group 45 was a fighter pilot, two doctors, two psychoanalysts (which was very useful for me), mother / daughter, father / son, uncle of Julia Roberts and a good friend of mine whose passport stamps win mine, Frank.

Through the endless slums of tin it is understandable that the rate of unemployment was 39%. This is the richest nation in Africa, but their resources are limited due to the influx of 50,000 refugees year from neighboring nations.

We learned that when a man stands a hut on the lawn after 72 hours should you stay or find a new place to settle. In a population of 30% and 70% white color, there is reverse discrimination for jobs. There are 11 official languages in South Africa. Most and speak Afrikaans, a language derived from Dutch and Bushmen.

There is an indescribable warmth and friendliness in the people here. "Ubuntu" is the word Welcome. They have strange word in their mother tongue.

Day 2 - Cape Town standards with incredible natural wonders and trendiness. A cross between San Francisco and Rio de Janeiro, which could definitely live here. We make a day of sightseeing, including the peninsula of Camps Bay, Fish Hook, Simons Town, Hout Bay and many more. Along the spectacular coastline, we saw whales panties.

Among the highlights of a cruise to Seal Island, up of thousands of penguins and funicular up to Cape of Good Hope, where the Atlantic and Indian oceans merge. There are many great moments from Kodak. At night, all the spread of the famous V & A Waterfront, with its many pubs and cafes.

Day 3 - We went to Hermanus lying on a whale a good time. The festival's annual whale is led by the single "whale crier" world sounding the horn at the sighting. Whales come gather here every September for mating. The berries are bright care for mothers and calves.

There are about 5000 Southern Right Whale named centuries ago when they were allowed to hunt whales. They have no teeth and swallow up to 400 pounds of fish per day.

My supplier says we should see thousands of people gathered here in sheltered bays, but residents said they were shy and now comes a few. However, it was a great day off the festivities. The whole town goes gaga whale and we liked to mingle its inhabitants warm.

Spring is in bloom now with a kaleidoscope of geranium, lavender, canola and Stellar colorful protea. My bouquet Wedding was coves. Here, they grow like weeds. Overnight in the charming town of Arniston. Our hotel Sat by the sea, surrounded by mountains were dotted with lighthouses.

Day 4 - We through the majestic mountains and Mossel Bay are known for their calamaris which are the size of the nets. Our destination was Oudtshoorn, "Capital of the pen the world." Since 1864 is the world's leading supplier of all things leather, ostrich meat and feathers. We visited a huge farm for breeding and hatching of witnesses. Some even mount the eccentric beings.

The next stop was a wildlife center for a chance to get closer to many native animals. We had our Pet Photos leopards, lions and a pygmy hippo named Humphrey. It was the home of "Duma", the famous film of the same name cheetah.

Rare white tigers are raised here. There are only 300 left on earth. Many in our group participated in the worlds' cage dipping crocodile in the cage is lowered into the hot water and surrounded by chomping jaws. These are enormous Nile crocodiles. bite and could break the spine and break all the ribs. This place always many exciting events.

Our last stop was the famous Cango Caves UNESCO, Arica largest cave show. Almost decided not to go and I'm not a woman cave. However, it was incredibly impressive as we walked in huge inner chamber dry caves are 800,000 years ago.

Day 5 - We arrived in the beautiful Plettenberg Bay. First tour is Monkeyland, the first primate sanctuary free mutli-species. It's all about rescue previously abused monkeys, baboons, monkeys and lemurs Madagascar. They tried to steal our property in the south of free air.

Later, we visited the elephant sanctuary between hands of the educational and interactive tour. I did not know African elephants could be tamed as Asia or Indian. We learn that none other than the understanding is like the elephant that can learn, remember, meditate and think like a man can do.

We enjoyed a tour log-in-hand when we walked, fed and examined by touching the ears, tail, tongue and tear. This was sweet. Zulu instructors were men. I went thumbs up. With a big smile, thanked me. I did not know that this gesture is Zulu, which were very fertile.

We spent two nights in Whalesong Lodge with sea views and a favorite. Here's a surprise wedding reception was organized for us with cakes, local wines and more from our U.S. supplier. After Frank made a toast to heart, we all sang "Going to the plane and we're getting married." Dinners were in ours. Everything is so affordable here than is often ordered four courses.

Day 6 - We traveled to Knysna, the capital The oyster of the world. They boarded a ferry and sailed Nature Reserve pen. 4x4 jeeps and took us to the top of the west Chiefs seaview

From there we walk downhill through the forest to the waves breaking on the shore. (It is the most dangerous Bay the world for ships plying these waters and therefore can not have any insurance.)

A buffet of seafood, welcomes us to the forest for food, placed under a canopy of Milkwood trees. Leaving this little piece of Paradise, I realized that the spring is covered with black mold. Rare seahorses are high here. These strange creatures living companions and the male gives birth.

In the afternoon, he joined the ocean Research Safari whales, dolphins and sharks. For me it was the highlight of the trip. It is so unique so we launched our boats and rockets in the Atlantic.

These vessels legal research allowed us to get closer to whales. Our boat came in 50-two-ton whale mating. One was the size of Moby Dick that arched gracefully than the other hit his flap with a cascading waterfall. It was like watching two buses rolling in water. Another boat spotted two pods of 20 whales playing together.

This eco-adventure was a powerful experience that We were left in stunned silence until our departure. The fight against the waves on our return to earth was like storming the beaches of Normandy (No balls) and it's very exciting.

09.07 Day - Check our longest drive of 4 hours to our hunting ground. The scenery was perfect in the African sun, with hills, forests, beaches, sand dunes, and dumped in the Mar.

We arrived at the luxury Kariega a reservation private with an abundance of game which was a world apart. Located on 14,000 hectares bordered by the rivers Bushmans lush, was impressive. We went through the electric doors to see herds of gazelles, water, money, antelope and wildebeest. The landscape was a Giant Wildlife lawn to satisfy their omnivorous appetites.

Five players were given game and wine sunset photo stops and were added. Our ranger guides were excellent and were more comfortable safari jeeps made. Conservation is paramount here. In nature, nothing is Guaranteed.

I have friends known to spend thousands of dollars on safaris in Africa and with the rain they saw little. Earnings Private Reserve is a guaranteed comment.

This only a sample of what Africa is, but here we got the best picture always within a few feet of lions, elephants, rhinos and countless animals. The Cape buffalo is the most dangerous animal of the earth due its unpredictability. He is the only animal with a Masai warrior will run from.

Many here have been semi-domesticated and suddenly our jeeps. A client reached out to stroke the pen of cows. Remained calm, but rabies may occur in seconds. For leisure time had a cruise on the River between hippos and walking on the trails. Nowhere else would have been able to walk among the wild elk and zebra in the bush as I've done here!

Our farewell "dinner Boma" of traditional cuisine was created under the Southern Cross star. The Local staff sang and danced around a campfire. It was a perfect ending to our trip well.

Trunks Beach Surf
Why do male surf life savers have their glutes showing when they compete in surf boat carnivals?

I was watching a surf carnival where they race in teams in the surf boats (rowing through the waves) that was done on Piha Beach in New Zealand and the male contestants mostly pulled their swimmers/trunks/togs between their cheeks so their glutes were showing in the same way a g-string looks.

I am curious as to why they do this.

It's to reduce chaffing, which is especially painful on your bum cheeks!

Fortunately, the days of splinters (with the invention of fibregalss) are long gone.

(btw, female life savers do it too!)
